Inglorious Basterds (2009)

This has long been my least favorite Tarantino film, but I saw it was available on Netflix and figured I’d give it another shot.

Some movies get better the more times you watch them.  It’s amazing how Basterds gets worse every time.   Other than the opening scene, there is literally not a single redeeming quality to this film.  Nearly every scene is either boring as hell or just plan offensive.   And you’re forced to read subtitles sometimes, and sometimes not.  For no reason.  This is my least favorite film, ever.

I am convinced that Tarantino, who obviously knows how to make a good movie, decided to see just how much bullshit he could throw onto the screen and see if critics and fanboys would find some deep inner meaning to it.
There are a lot of great films about World War II.  This is not one of them.  I feel like I need to watch Patton or Downfall again just to get the taste out of my mouth.
